This privacy policy explains how Property Index Ireland collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit our website or sign up to our waitlist. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about how we handle your information. This policy applies to the pre-launch waitlist phase of the platform only and will be updated when the full platform launches.
1. Who we are
Property Index Ireland is an independent rental transparency platform currently in pre-launch development, operated by its founder and based in Dublin, Ireland.

Property Index Ireland is in the process of being incorporated as a Private Limited Company in Ireland. Until registration is complete, the platform is operated by the founding individual. This policy will be updated to reflect the registered company details upon incorporation.
2. What data we collect
During the pre-launch waitlist phase, we collect the following personal data when you sign up:
- Your email address — so we can notify you when the platform launches and let you know if you've secured one of the founding member spots
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may automatically log standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type for security and performance purposes. This is logged at the infrastructure level and is not used by us to identify you.
We do not collect: your name, phone number, postal address, payment details, or any sensitive personal data at this stage. We do not sell your data to any third party.
3. How we obtain your consent
We collect your email address only when you choose to enter it into the "Claim your spot" form on our homepage and submit it. This is a deliberate, affirmative action on your part — no email address is collected automatically or by default. A link to this privacy policy is available from the homepage at all times, before and after you submit the form.
Your consent is recorded at the point of submission. You may withdraw consent at any time — see your rights in section 7 below.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR — freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous consent, given by the clear affirmative act of submitting the form for the stated purpose.
4. Why we use your data
We use your email address only for the following purposes, consistent with what you consented to:
- To confirm your place on the founding member waitlist
- To notify you when Property Index Ireland launches and beta access opens
- To send occasional significant updates about the platform — no more than once a month
We will not use your email address to contact you about anything unrelated to Property Index Ireland, and we will not use it for advertising or marketing purposes beyond what is described above.
5. How we store your data and who processes it
Your email address is stored securely in our database, provided by Supabase. Supabase acts as a data processor on our behalf — they process your data only under our instructions and do not use it for their own purposes. Their privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare does not store personal data submitted through our forms. Their privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Data location: our database is hosted in the EU (Ireland). Cloudflare may process technical request data in other regions as part of its global content delivery network, with appropriate safeguards in place.
6. How long we keep your data
We will keep your email address on our waitlist until one of the following happens:
- You unsubscribe — which you can do at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send
- You request deletion — see section 7 below
- The platform launches and you choose not to engage with it — we will delete inactive waitlist data within 12 months of the platform launch date
We will not retain your data longer than is necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
7. Your rights under GDPR
As a data subject under GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to the personal data we hold about you:
- Right to access — you can ask us what data we hold about you and receive a copy of it
- Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data we hold
- Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete all personal data we hold about you at any time, without giving a reason
- Right to withdraw consent — you can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
- Right to restriction — you can ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
- Right to data portability — you can ask us to provide your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format
- Right to object — you can object to us processing your data at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@propertyindexireland.ie. We will respond within one calendar month as required by GDPR.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (DPC) — Ireland's supervisory authority for GDPR. The DPC can be contacted at dataprotection.ie.
8. Cookies
Our website does not currently set any cookies — no analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or social media cookies. We do not use any tool that shares your data with third parties for commercial purposes.
If this changes — for example, if we introduce analytics in the future — we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set.
9. Third-party services we use
We use the following third-party services to operate our platform. Each acts as a data processor under appropriate agreements:
- Supabase — database provider. Stores your email address on our behalf, hosted in the EU (Ireland). supabase.com
- Cloudflare Pages — website hosting. Does not store form submission data. cloudflare.com
We do not sell, rent, transfer, or share your personal data with any other third parties for marketing, commercial, or any other purposes.
10. Children
Property Index Ireland is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a person under 16, please contact us at hello@propertyindexireland.ie and we will delete it immediately.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time as the platform develops, particularly when we move from pre-launch to full launch. We will notify waitlist subscribers of any significant changes by email before they take effect. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.
This policy will be substantially updated prior to the public launch of the full platform to cover report submission data, scoring data, and all other data processing activities of the live platform.
